PHONICS: Blending CVC Words

Point the mouse over any of the letters to hear their sounds. You can click on the letters and move them around to make some CVC (Consonant - Vowel - Consonant) words, too (e.g. fit, mat, pan).

After mastering CVC words, pupils go on to learn about phonemes which use more than one letter. For example, the vowel sounds (a e i o u) make other sounds when combined, e.g. in read, make, and mouse.
